Global Road Network

Every classified road on earth, harmonised into a single routable graph.

What this dataset is

A planet-wide road graph, harmonised from OpenStreetMap and national road registries where they are openly available. Each edge in the graph carries a road class (motorway, trunk, primary, secondary, tertiary, residential, service, track, path), a surface tag, a speed limit where known, and a stable identifier.

Where national authoritative data is available under a compatible licence, it is preferred over OSM; otherwise OSM is used.

What you get

  • An edge-and-node GeoPackage that can be loaded directly into routing engines.
  • A GeoParquet mirror partitioned by country.
  • A snapshot of the underlying OSM PBF, for users who want the full upstream record.

Typical uses

  • Routing, accessibility and travel-time analysis.
  • Logistics, last-mile and supply-chain modelling.
  • Disaster response and humanitarian access mapping.
  • Infrastructure asset inventories.

Licensing note

Where this dataset incorporates data from OpenStreetMap, the underlying ODbL terms also apply. The CC BY 4.0 attribution string above already credits OSM contributors; please retain it in derived works.
