Daily, gap-free global sea-surface temperature on a 0.05° grid.
What this dataset is
A daily, gap-free global sea-surface temperature dataset on a 0.05° grid, blended from infrared, microwave and in-situ observations. Coverage starts on 1 January 1982 and is updated nightly with a one-day latency.
What you get
- A single global Zarr store, indexed by date, latitude and longitude.
- A monthly NetCDF mirror for file-based workflows.
- Anomaly products against the 1991–2020 climatological baseline.
Typical uses
- Marine heatwave detection and monitoring.
- El Niño / La Niña tracking.
- Coral-bleaching risk forecasting.
- Inputs to ocean, climate and fisheries models.
